Most Irish houses are named and this one is called "Abhaille" or Home.  Abhaille (A-wallah) is an old farm house residence which offers self-catering accommodation.  Unlike small hotels and B&B's, which charge between 35 and 60 Euros per person per night, self-catering establishments are much more affordable.
Even though your room at Abhaille will be similarly priced to a hostel room, it is considerably more comfortable.  You will have a double (queen size) bed in a large private bedroom with your own sink and a view out the window of the Connemara mountains. Shower and bath facilities are shared, and there are never more than two guests in the house at the same time. Every effort is taken to ensure your privacy so that you may enjoy the peace and beauty of country living.

As in a hostel, meals at Abhaille are the guest's responsiblity. If you should choose to cook here rather than eat out, the kitchen is open at all times for your convenience, and clean-up after meal preparation is the guest's responsibility.
